So I was reading this article in Time the other day, it was about immigration in Italy, Spain, and Greece. There was a section in it that stated the immigrants will do the jobs that Italians won't do. Sounds kind of familiar, just like pro-immigrant activists say back home. The thing is, they don't tell the whole story.

See, Italians,Spaniards, Greeks, just like Americans, would do those jobs that only immigrants would do if they could afford to do it. The problem, as I see and have witnessed it, is that the cost of living can not be supplemented from a days wages for a normal citizen of a country. Of course the opposition would argue that if illegals can live off of it, so can citizens. That is false. An illegal is not living in the same standards as a citizen. They are not paying taxes, more than likely have no vehicle, live in housing with multiple familes in which they 90% of the time, have no bill to pay except for eating. So yeah, working for $3hr is doable and affordable for someone like that. If that farmer had to pay a higher wage to hire a citizen than they would have to capture their losses from their customers, the people, by increases in costs. Keep illegals in the fields, orchards, etc, can pretty much keep the costs down as long as the gov doesnot get in the way with (whatever they normally do to stop it.

Obama's Birth Certificate

Why continue to waste time trying to figure out if he is an American citizen or not. If it comes out that he actually is not, think of the worldwide damage that could do to the US. At the same time, instead of damage, some would think it as a boost for American opportunities. Not only can you come to America for a better life, but you TOO can be President!!! Soon no more Governator, but a Presdentator!!!

It is all justa diversion, like everything else, to keep the public entertained and watching what really does not matter.

Why don't they give the real, or estimated, unemployment numbers. Why base the stimulus effects on the drop in new applications as to the steady increase in actual unemployment.

Healthcare reform?

I do not understand, if the U.S. healthcare system is the best in the world, then why do we need to reform the system? We do not need healthcare reform, we need healthcare costs reform. If they can figure out how to control the cost of healthcare, not by having more government funded healthcare, but just cap the damn costs of it, then more people could afford it. Eliminate those frivolous lawsuits, let doctors do their jobs, control the lawyers, then maybe we can havea good all encompassing system again.

Optimistic look at the bleek present?

I will make an optimistic look/observance of the demise this admin is putting our great country in. Once all is said and done, American capitalism will be lost, socialism will be in full force. By the end of this presidents first term, that socialistic system will fail. The actual powers that are in power will not know what to do, how to maintain, and how to sustain. They will all start running around like chickens with their heads cut off, like a chinese firedrill, like cockroaches when the lights get turned on... When this time comes, and it will, they will not bow, they will not concede, they will not ask for help, from us at least, they will demand our assistance. When, if, we reuse, then it will all be our fault.

Regardless how it finally plays out, we will take over, again. What we do then will be the key. Will OUR leaders/representatives lead by following OUR forefathers per the constitution? Or will greed take over, as it has been doing for some time now. Greed, in my opinion, has been the true demise of capitalism. I believe the capitalistic system has been getting tainted by the progressives, moderates, all the others that do not understand capitalism and what it means. Because they do not half understand capitalism, when they try to follow it, they turn greedy, thus corrupting the entire system. Some of our leaders, I believe, have also lost their way in the understanding of capitalism. Therefore, if greed does not take over our new leadership and our people, if we follow the original plan/template for a sucessful America as laid out in the original writings, captialism will regain control and thrive as it one was.

I dont agree with hardly anything from Obama. Dont know all the aspects of his plan for nationalized healthcare. Everyone agrees that something needs to be done. Maybe nationalizing would be good for now. Everyone always tries to talk about the horror stories of it. Well, I personally have more horror stories with paid/insured healthcare than I do with nationalized. I currently live in Italy for the last 2 years, but I have been covered under their system for 12 years now due to being married to an Italian. There, for VERY VERY low co-payment, 36euro each visit, I have had 2 MRI's, many x-rays. My wife has had major emergency surgery. Her op costed us a grand total of 36 euro out of pocket. If we wanted to, for faster service, we could go to a specialy clinic and pay to have (whatever) done right away. Yes, a portion of our taxes got to paying for it, 4%, whoa big deal. In the US, I was paying $1500 mth for HMO/PPO healthcare, had an MRI and still had to pay out of pocket $500. One of my wifes pregnancies was not covered because I got laid off for 40 days (lapse in employment, pre-existing condition) so they labeled it as pre-existing so we do not pay. The company I worked for changes insurance providers and my old doctor is notunder their system so we can not use him any longer. And so on....

I mean, the only problem I can see with the nationalized system is the government that will be running it.

Freedom isn't free

We must never forget who gets the credit for the freedoms we have, of which we should be eternally grateful.
I watched the flag pass by one day, it fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it, And then he stood at ease..
I looked at him in uniform, so young, so tall, so proud, with hair cut square and eyes alert he'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him had fallen through the years, how many died on foreign soil, how many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down, how many died at sea, how many foxholes were soldiers' graves, no, freedom isn't free.I heard the sound of Taps one night, when everything was still, I listened to the bugler play, I felt a sudden chill, I wondered just how many times that Taps had meant 'Amen,'
When a flag had draped a coffin, of a brother or a friend, I thought of all the children, of the mothers and the wives, of fathers, sons and husbands, with interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard at the bottom of the sea, of unmarked graves in Arlington .
No, freedom isn't free.
Enjoy Your Freedom and God Bless Our Troops.
Say a prayer for our servicemen. Of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, a prayer is the very best One.
